Weekend in Vegas
I won a free weekend trip to Las Vegas last December at work and we finally got around to going. Here are some of the pictures we took during our three days in Vegas.

Flying west over the Rockies.
We stayed on the strip at the MGM Grand, here is the view from our room.
Napping lions at the MGM Grand.
CSI: The Experience was at the MGM Grand. We did this on our final day, it was pretty fun. You are assigned a case, view a crime scene and try to figure out whodunnit using some of the techniques from the show.
Just across the strip from the MGM Grand is the New York New York with its replica Statue of Liberty.
Another replica of the Statue of Liberty, this time it was made from jelly beans.
There is also a faux Brooklyn Bridge and Broadway
Just past the New York New York lies the Monte Carlo. Right outside the main entrance of the Monte Carlo is a two story biker bar not five feet from the fountain in the picture.
Sarah in front of the Bellagio.
The ceiling above the lobby of the Bellagio is full of backlit colored glass flowers made by Dale Chihuly.
View of the Paris from the Bellagio gardens.
Continuing down the strip we stopped in Caesar's Palace.
Caesar's is full of cool statues and fountains and worth walking through even if you don't plan on gambling or shopping.
My favorite statue has to be Bacchus seated on his throne a goblet of wine.
A new addition to Caesar's since last time I was there is the three story Shoppes area.
It was at the Shoppes at Caesar's where we saw Pete Rose doing an autograph signing event at a sports memorabilia store.
The gardens at the Wynn were impressive.
The area between the Palazzo and the Venetian was decorated with huge umbrellas suspended from the ceiling.
Sarah and Humpty Dumpty somewhere in the Palazzo.
Here we are at the Venetian stopping for a glass of wine at Mario Batali's
Back at the complete opposite end of the Strip we stopped by the Mandalay Bay to take a look around.
A Red Square themed bar had this headless statue of Lenin parked outside. If only he knew his likeness was being used to lure people in to a bar where the cheapest drink is $8.50...
The wine bar at Aureole. "Wine Angels" glide around on a pulley system to retrieve bottles from the four story wine tower.
The famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign is a ways past the Mandalay Bay and the rest of the resorts. It's a trek but you can't go to Vegas without getting your picture taken here...
We made a brief off-strip detour to visit the Hofbräuhaus. The best part of the Vegas Hofbräuhaus is that it is right across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel. The original Hofbräuhaus in Munich is right across from a Hard Rock Cafe, it seemed fitting.
The MGM Grand at night.
We made it up to the Treasure Island in time to catch the final performance of their open air pirate show. It was cheesy but still fun.
The volcano at the Mirage.
We didn't make it back to the Bellagio earl enough to catch the final fountain show but we had a good view of it from our table at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant.
